SPORTING CLAYS
Sporting Clays originated in the United Kingdom in the 1930's where it was first developed
as a teaching and practice layout for developing wing shooting skills.  Sporting Clays was
introduced to the United States in the early 1980's and is an exhilarating shotgun sport that
can be enjoyed by everyone.  Bi-State hosted the 1998 Zone 5 Championship, and 2002
Illinois State Championship.  With member support and volunteers the course has grown
to include twelve and technically challenging courses in the area.  The varied terrain
supports multiple levels to shoot from with a variety of different presentations.  The course
features overhead shots, in-comers, crossers & teal, all of which can be changed from
week to week.  The course's level of difficulty ranges from intermediate to expert.
